Reaching New Heights: Circle K International Convention 2008
Denver, Colorado August 6-9, 2008

It’s that time of year again! That’s right – hundreds of college students from all over the world who share the same passion for service, leadership, and fellowship are all heading to Denver, Colorado, this August for Circle K International Convention 2008, and YOU SHOULD TOO!

This year, the 53rd annual Circle K International Convention (ICON) will be held at the Adam’s Mark Hotel, located in the heart of downtown Denver, from Wednesday-Saturday, August 6-9, 2008. However, the fun and festivities won’t end until late night on the 9th, so plan on staying in Denver until August 10th.

Known as the Mile High City, Denver offers breathtaking views of the Rocky Mountains and 300 days of annual sunshine—more than San Diego and Miami Beach! But aside from the warm days and cool evenings, Denver offers a never-ending list of things to do.
With the 10th-largest downtown in the United States, Denver’s visitors have no problem finding unique shops, outdoor cafes, galleries, and more—especially in the heart of the city, which is exactly the epicenter of CKI Convention activities during August 6-9!

If you max out on the shopping experience—if that is even possible—there are plenty of sightseeing options. After all, Denver has the nation’s largest city park system and 850 miles of paved bike trails. Take a spin, or just gaze in wide-eyed wonder at the neighboring 120-mile range of mountainous magnificence, which includes 200 named peaks. Perhaps there’s an unnamed peak waiting for you.

After your commune with nature, head to Elitch Gardens, an amusement and water park in downtown Denver, or take in a Colorado Rockies baseball game! The Washington Nationals and San Diego Padres are in town during CKI Convention week as well. Love animals? Some of your favorite critters make their homes at the Denver Zoo and the Downtown Aquarium. There is even the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, which has the world’s most advanced digital planetarium.

If that’s not enough, by attending International Convention, you will also have the opportunity to voice your opinion on important matters concerning our organization in the House of Delegates, attend educational workshops for the betterment your club and to develop your personal leadership skills, socialize with other CKI’ers from around the world during the fun-filled parties and fairs, elect your incoming International Board, and so much more!
